This very special dinner will join four singular personalities – winemakers Alexandre Chartogne & Rodolphe Péters and chefs Daniel Boulud & Arnaud Lallement – to create a highly cerebral yet intensely hedonistic evening.
Alex is at the helm of his family estate Chartogne-Taillet in Merfy, a historic village with incredibly diverse terroirs in the Massif de Saint-Thierry just 15 minutes northwest of Reims, while Rodolphe oversees 20 hectares of vines predominantly in the Grand Cru Côte des Blancs village of Le Mesnil sur Oger, where the iconic Les Chétillons vineyard is located.
Together, the winemaker friends have created flights for this dinner that will explore themes and questions at the heart of Champagne production today - from the diversity of chalky soils (which is far from homogenous across Champagne) to crown cap vs cork for lees aging, to the length of aging sur latte, to the art of blending grape varieties across soil types
On the cuisine side, our host Chef Daniel Boulud will welcome Chef Arnaud Lallement of the three Michelin-starred restaurant l’Assiette Champenoise in Reims to collaborate on a menu that will complement the dinner’s wines and themes.
These eight impossibly skilled hands behind the champagnes and food promise a star-studded evening to remember.
