In 1952, Taittinger created Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs - its most exclusive and premium cuvée - in honor of the Counts of Champagne and in particular Thibaud IV, the knight and poet whose seal proudly adorns every bottle of Taittinger.
The wine is crafted in the Gallo-Roman chalk quarries under the former Saint-Nicaise Abbey in Reims and is subject to a great deal of care and attention until it reaches full maturity. The Blanc de Blancs cuvée, made solely from Chardonnays from the 5 Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs region, is only produced when the harvest is of exceptional quality and worthy of becoming a great vintage. Rarer still is the Comtes de Champagne Rosé which requires an extraordinary vintage for both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
We are thrilled to welcome Clovis Taittinger of the Taittinger family to present this remarkable collection of Comtes de Champagne back to 1990 alongside a collaborative menu from Chef Arnaud Lallement of three-Michelin-starred L’Assiette Champenoise and Chef Daniel Boulud of Restaurant DANIEL.
