Jacques Lassaigne is a 4.7-hectare family estate located in Montgueux, whose terroir is nearly identical to the growing sites found further north in Le Mesnil, as they share the same limestone vein — this is exceptional terroir for making great Champagne.
Emmanuel Lassaigne, Jacques’ son who now runs the estate, began working the vines in 1999, and made the bold decision to craft wines from individual parcels. He makes all important winemaking decisions virtually alone and experiments boldly in ways that show courage and confidence, for when he decides to make a change, he often isn’t able to fully realize the results of that change for 3, 5, or even 10 years.
This lunch at Chef Andrew Carmellini’s Locanda Verde Hudson Yards will highlight Emmanuel’s bold vision and artistic sensibility through a stunning progression of ten wines that include some truly rare and exclusive cuvées.
Emmanuel will present ten wines at this lunch, including:
Champagne Jacques Lassaigne, Les Vignes de Montgueux Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs NV
Champagne Jacques Lassaigne, Le Cotet Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs NV (Base 2021)
Champagne Jacques Lassaigne, La Colline Inspirée Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs NV (Base 2021)
Champagne Jacques Lassaigne, Millésime 2016
Plus six additional wines from the estate’s library that will showcase the full expression of Emmanuel’s intuitive and experimental approach to winemaking. Per Emmanuel’s request, the exact wines will be revealed at the lunch.
Exact wines and vintages are subject to change
