La Fête du Champagne Sommelier Scholarship

The La Fête du Champagne Sommelier Scholarship's goal is to help further the education of the new generation of young sommeliers by bringing them to the source and teaching them about the wines, terroir, and spirit of Champagne.

The winning sommeliers will accompany Daniel Johnnes and Peter Liem on an all-expense-paid trip to Champagne, France to learn about the history and culture, visit the vineyards and winemakers, and of course, taste the wines of this prestigious wine region. The trip will include visits with both legendary houses and up-and-coming growers.

The winners will be selected by a selection committee of top sommeliers and wine professionals.

This trip will be funded with the support of Zachys and the proceeds from a limited number of lots sourced directly from some of Champagne's greatest estates. These lots will be sold during the December 6-16 zCollections Auction.

Daniel Johnnes, Peter Liem, and La Fête du Champagne would like to thank the Champenois who have supported this effort: Drappier, Joseph Perrier, Pierre Péters, Leclerc-Briant, Bruno Paillard, Philipponnat, Diebolt-Vallois, Cattier, Pol Roger, Gosset, Jacquesson, Louis Roederer, Benoit Marguet, Marc Hebrart, Michel Gonet, Chartogne-Taillet, Marie-Courtin, Georges Laval, Pierre Paillard, Savart, Bérêche, Henri Giraud, Henriot, Krug, Lallier, Christophe Mignon, and Ruinart.
